  • American soldiers are fighting in Iraq to help establish a Middle Eastern democracy with a
    free and open government.

    Meanwhile, the Democratic leadership in the Senate thumbed its nose at the concept on
    Tuesday.

    They should be ashamed.

    In a rarely used parliamentary maneuver, Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada called for a closed session to discuss a long-delayed investigation of the Bush administration's use of intelligence in the lead up to the Iraq war.
