LANSING- Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saulius “Saul” Anuzis blasted Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D- NV) for publicly stating Thursday afternoon that the Iraq war is “lost”.  Anuzis also challenged Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D- MI) to contest Reid’s comments in a video-blog that was sent out to supporters Friday afternoon.

“Defeatist statements like those made yesterday by Senator Reid would make Jane Fonda proud while aiding and abetting our enemies in Iraq who wish to harm to our troops and Iraq’s growing democracy,” Anuzis said.  “It is now the duty of Senator Levin, as the Senate’s Armed Services Committee Chairman, to speak out against these remarks and ensure our brave men and women overseas that America supports the sacrifices they make for us every day.”
