Continuing their party's defeatist approach, Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean stated in an interview last night that “the idea that we're going to win this war (in Iraq) is just plain wrong.” In addition Dean likened the current struggle in the War on Terrorism to Vietnam. Nevada Republican Party Chairman Paul Adams issued the following statement in response to Democrat's remarks:
"Democrat leaders Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi have made it abundantly clear where they stand on the central front of the War on Terror. As Senate Minority leader, Harry Reid has to decide whether he stands with the DNC Chairman and House Minority leader on a retreat and defeat stance in Iraq, or whether he stands with other leaders in his party like Joe Lieberman who understand the stakes. Defeatism and uncertainty are not what our soldiers or the Iraqi people need just 10 days before a major election. Harry Reid needs to tell the people of Nevada whether he believes America can win in Iraq or whether he agrees with the leader of his party."
